Passing the Test

As we continue with the Narrative Lectionary, the next episode in the Gospel of Matthew is traditionally known as "the Temptation of Jesus." But since the original Gospel did not come with subtitles, the argument can be made that, for Matthew, this episode should have a different focus. Rev Derwyn compares this account briefly with its parallel in the Gospel of Luke to highlight the point Matthew was trying to make. And, at the end, he explores a way to take this episode as inspiration for our own journey through the various challenges we face in life.
