The story of Joseph is meant to illustrate the faithfulness of Yahweh in preserving Jacob's family, the Israelites. But the description of how that came about leaves us with some challenging observations. So we have to ask, how much of the story can we connect with our experiences these days? What does the story tell us about God that we can hold on to, and what do we have to leave behind as an ancient and now inaccurate view of how God works?
