A Different Kind of King

All four of the gospel writers include Jesus’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem for the Passover festival. The way John crafts his account of the event sends us the message that not only is Jesus recognized by the people as their expected king but tells us what kind of king Jesus intends to be. All who choose to serve King Jesus are called to adopt his values and imitate his actions in the same countercultural way.
