PRESENTATION OF THE LORD - Philippians 1:3-11; John 4:46-5:15

NOTE: Because we are following the Narrative Lectionary this year, we have not selected readings to match the liturgical day known as the Presentation of the Lord, and neither does the theme of the sermon match this observance.

The two accounts of healing given in chapters 4 and 5 of the Gospel of John are referred to as "signs". This is a key motif in the Gospel, and the author features seven of them. So, what are these two signs pointing to? What is it that they are emphasizing about Christ Jesus? Rev Derwyn explores these questions, along with an analysis of the rather intriguing details about the Pool of Beth-Zatha/Bethesda that is a significant part of the second healing miracle described in chapter 5.
