The Gospel of John is unique, and much of the reason for that uniqueness is that it demonstrates a developing understanding of God in the story of the Christ. This reflects what had already been happening throughout the Hebrew Bible. In this sermon, Rev Derwyn explores how this developing understanding of God took place through Israelite history and then into the Gospel of John, and then again after that. As each stage of development happens, we find that what had come before was both included and transcended as new truth was discovered. And this continues today . . . or, at least, it ought to.
