Isaiah chapter 9 is a passage of scripture that usually gives us thoughts about Christmas. When we read, "Unto us a child is born...", we can't help but think of baby Jesus in a manger. However, that is not what the prophet Isaiah was talking about when he composed these words. He was talking about King Hezekiah. And yet, there is still a connection with the messianic expectation in Israel into which Jesus was born. In this sermon, Rev Derwyn explores the connection between Hezekiah and Jesus and explores what this means for us as we celebrate Reign of Christ Sunday and the end of the liturgical year.
