PENTECOST 23 - 1 Samuel 16:1-13; John 7:37-43

Saul and David, the first two kings of Israel, both had a similar beginning in that neither of them anticipated the day that Samuel would come and anoint them to be king. How they acted in response to their call to be king is what set them apart from each other, with David eclipsing Saul and being held up as Israel's greatest king. In this sermon, Rev Derwyn articulates two characteristics of David's approach to being the king that can transfer to our approach to living for God day by day.
