Clergy as Gifts to the Church

In light of Rev Margaret's ordination to the priesthood yesterday, Rev Derwyn explores the role of the clergy and laity together in the church. Where it may seem that the clergy possess the authority and run things, the picture described in the Bible is one of service in partnership with all people in the church. There's a reason why the image of "the Lord is my shepherd" is comforting, and it is with this image in mind that bishops, priests, and deacons are to fulfill their roles as members of the body of Christ.
