The Law and the Prophets

The role of the prophets in the Hebrew Bible is significant, with "the Law and the Prophets" being a common way to describe the Old Testament as a whole. Prophets are also identified in the New Testament. But are there prophets and prophecies today? If so, who? and how does something prophetic work in the 21st century?
