The book of Esther might seem to be a strange reference for the season of Advent, but since the story takes place during the time that Israel was in exile, it speaks to the expectation, anticipation, and endurance we think about at this time of the year. An interesting and unusual book to be considered Scripture, Esther nevertheless provides us with a picture of living life with faith in the background and trusting that God is present even when God is not visible...
