In the parable of the talents, Jesus presents a picture that ought to encourage us to be active participants in seeing God's "kingdom come and will be done on earth as it is in heaven." We must be careful not to get the wrong idea from the parable and therefore have a fearful response to the responsibility God has given us, but instead be motivated to serve with joy, looking forward to God's approval of our efforts.
And, yes, Rev Derwyn did say "automagically" in this sermon . . .
